Every level hides a picture made of light. Steer your spark along the edge of the dark, cut a trail across it and close the loop to claim it. Each piece you take lights up: a seed, a jellyfish, a hummingbird, a snowy owl, a galaxy. Claim enough and the whole picture glows.

A quiet arcade game

Glowfield is a territory game in the spirit of Qix and JezzBall. Anything that touches your trail breaks it, so every cut is a small bet. Short levels, instant retry, three stars to earn in each.

Five worlds, thirty-one pictures

• Seedling: a seed of light learns to grow, from seed to fruit
• Tide: jellyfish, nautilus, seahorse, koi, lotus and a silk ray in the deep
• Ember: a neuron, a hummingbird, a sunflower, a butterfly and a phoenix
• Aurora: snowflakes, the tree of life, a dandelion, a crystal rose and a snowy owl
• Cosmos: a spiral galaxy, a ringed world, a nebula, a moon cat and the big bang

Between levels the light of one picture flows into the next, and every picture you finish goes into your gallery.

Powers and enemies, one at a time

Dash along your trail. Snare an enemy in a pocket of light. Raise a shield, pick up seeds of light for extra time and a freeze, set off a nova, hold to focus and slow the world. Each power arrives when you are ready for it, and so does each new enemy: drifters, seekers that bend toward your trail, crawlers on the shore, giants that cannot be snared and dashers that charge.

Infinity

When Seedling is done, Infinity opens: endless stages of rising difficulty, each with a newly painted picture, with lives that carry over. Your ten best runs are kept in the hi-scores.

Together, on one PC

Two Sparks light a picture side by side; a Claim War colours it in two tints and the most light wins; in the Hunt one of you claims while the other steers the dark, then you swap. Share the keyboard or take a controller each, or let the Bot take the second spark.

Made of light

Every picture is drawn as up to millions of glowing points on a dark field, with bloom and a soft grain. Sound effects play in the key of the music. Choose the level of detail in Settings if your PC prefers a lighter load.
